Hey,
I enjoyed our practical lesson on 2D animation on tuesday, I have tried it once before in my first of college but it was a lot simpiler than creating the look of weight!
I always thought in 2D animation you needed a drawings one after the other to create a flow in the animation, I learnt that to create images such as speed, you don't, you actually need less drawings which was a surprise!.
I am happy with the way my animation came out but I might cut a few drawings out of the fall and create a more realistic arc because my heavy guy just looks like he floated sideways! still I'm pleased at my first attempt.
Watching Fantasia today brought back memories!! I used to love this film as a child and I still do today. When i was younger I obviously wasn't interested in the different styles of animation used throughout this film but I was surprised at how many there was, My favourite part of the film was the soundtrack line, I liked how a simple line was made into a character just by creating a nice image using sound, (the best part was when it did the percussion!)
cheers nat.

First entry!
Hey guys,
I really enjoyed the pixellation task we got set last week, it was really good fun and its something I would really like to look into doing again, this time maybe with plasticine modals and random toys!.
The films we watched today were very interesting, although I enjoyed Jan Svankmajers work I did find it a little disturbing...Dolls eating and coming out of each other was a bit dark, I am however looking forward to his Alice in wonderland film which Andy mentioned!
I checked out youtube and watched a few more of his short films, they were all equally as disturbing as the next! heres a link to one of them, it didnt have the name but I will try and find out the link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQ1fLssuq98 and believe me, its worse than The Jabber Wocky!!
cheers Nat
